Course Information

What does the au pair training certification involve?

C.A.P has created specific criteria that divides au pairs into three categories according to their qualifications and experience (GOLD, SILVER, and BRONZE).

For individuals who are just starting off their journey to become an au pair, C.A.P offers a beginners programme for students who have no experience or references. These students will be required to volunteer at a pre - school / crèche, which is registered with the Department of Social Development, working with children and gaining practical experience five days a week for a month.


What Does it Cost?

For the full, in-class training and practical experience:


Weekday or weekend classes: R5,000.00 (incl. VAT) once-off or installment options

Once-off registration fee: R500 (this is required to book your seat)
This includes: Books, toolkit, Paediatric First Aid training, Criminal background check and beverages while in training
Additional annual fee of R500 to stay certified.


Course Structure

C.A.P’s  training course is designed to provide the basic theory and practical experience to prepare you for the life of an au pair. The course covers the fundamental elements of a child’s development, including essential child and baby care techniques, developmental stimulation, child safety as well as duties, work rules and looking after yourself as an au pair.


Au Pair Toolkit

When you apply for the C.A.P training course, you will receive a unique Au Pair Toolkit. The kit includes all the tools to get you started on your studies and to assist you with the practical side of the course and beyond as you embark on your journey as an au pair.
